Best Skin Tints For A Natural Look

BY NIGEL GARCIA

How to keep your everyday makeup looking light and fresh.

As much as possible, I keep my everyday makeup look light and fresh. I’ve been straying away from using foundation everyday, and instead, I’ve switched to skin tints. They’re perfect for giving an even coverage and cancelling out any redness on the face, while still making your skin look like skin. Note though that since skin tints have light formulas, really dark marks and acne won’t be covered up — but there’s always concealer for that!

1. Pixi Glow Skin Tint

Number one on my list is the Pixi Glow Skin Tint. It feels like a light, watery gel on the skin upon application, and it feels super refreshing too! It offers coverage light enough to even out your skin tone and slightly cover marks and discoloration on the face. This is my go-to skin tint because it still makes your skin look like it has no make up, plus it doesn’t crease or move throughout the day! It’s also waterproof, so it’s the perfect tint if you want to go to the beach and look fresh all day without looking too “done”.

2. Tarte BB Tinted Cream primer

Next on my list is the Tarte BB Cream Primer! It acts as a primer and BB cream in one. I usually just wear it on its own, because the coverage is already good as is. But you can also opt to wear this under your favorite foundation! The finish is smooth and matte-like, which looks really good in person. This also has SPF, so it’s perfect for the day! I love this line because it’s the only kind of primer-slash-BB cream that has dark shades. Most BB creams in the market only cater to light-skinned people, which is a bummer for me, because I’m so tan! So props to Tarte for making these with shades on the tan spectrum!

3. Glossier Skin Tint

Another favorite of mine is Glossier’s skin tint. This is for days when you want to look like you got glowy, well-rested skin. It makes your skin look better than ever. The finish is dewey, which I love for fresh make up looks. Coverage is light and natural too, but it does the job in correcting uneven patches and marks on my face. I just powder my t-zone after applying this so that I don’t look too oily (Considering that my skin type is combination).

These are just some of the many skin bases I’ve tried, but so far they’re my favorite! These are the top skin tints on my shelf that I use for those days when I want to recreate a no-makeup-makeup look.
