TikTok’s probably the go-to app these days for anything and everything trending — dances, memes, and yes, even makeup. From challenges that can either entertain you or make you cringe (don’t worry; we’re on the same boat here) to the latest fashion and makeup trends, TikTok has it all.
If you’re the type to be on TikTok often, you’ve probably already seen the E-Girl makeup trend make waves on the beauty scene, made even popular by Doja Cat’s viral Vogue tutorial. While the term “E-Girl,” which some say means “electronic girl,” has some pretty sexist roots, the fabulous girls who’ve embraced the makeup trend ran with it, made it something positive, and made it their own.
Now, if you’re wondering just how you can achieve the E-Girl makeup look, keep scrolling. We’re about to show you how.
The E-Girl Makeup Basics
You can think of the E-Girl makeup trend as some sort of a hybrid of anime and gothic aesthetics. This means that while the look can be pretty edgy and rather punk rock, it can also be colorful and fun.
This makeup trend is one that lets people experiment with different colors, shapes, and even textures, which means that it can come in many different iterations. However, most E-Girl makeup looks have a few things in common. Each look consists of a black-winged eyeliner, drunk blush, and either glossy or peach-tinted lips.

Eye Makeup
If you don’t know where to start when it comes to the E-Girl makeup trend, the eyes are a good choice. Start with the eyeshadow. You can opt for whatever color you want. You can even go for glitters for the added sparkle. Whatever it is you pick, make sure to cover your whole lid with your choice of eyeshadow and blend it at the edges of your eyelid as much as you can.
If you don’t want to use eyeshadow, that’s totally fine. As you’ll see in some photos of the E-Girl makeup trend online, it’s not a requirement to use one.
What is a must, however, is the black-winged eyeliner. Again, you can experiment with different winged eyeliner looks or just go for the simple, tried-and-tested version.
If you want to go simple, take your eyeliner pencil and draw a line that extends from the outer edge of your eye. The length of it depends on you, but make sure it’s angled with your eyebrows. After that, put your pencil at the end of the line you just drew and draw a curved line inward and extend it to the opposite edge of your eye.
Once you’ve achieved that, simply fill in the gaps so that no skin shows using your eyeliner pencil or even a liquid eyeliner.

Drunk Blush with Faux Freckles
If this is the first time you’re hearing the term “drunk blush,” it’s pretty straightforward: it’s how rosy some people’s cheeks get after consuming some alcohol. To achieve this look, you can opt to layer two blushes. Choose a red or pink blush for the base and a darker shade, like bronze, for example, to be applied around the area of your nose.
If you’re using a highlighter, make sure you place it on the high points of your face.
At this point, you can also opt to add faux freckles to your E-girl makeup look. While there are products out there that are specifically meant to create faux freckles, you can also use a brown eyeliner, an eyeshadow, or even henna.

Peach or Glossy Lips
You’re almost there! Now that you’ve worked your way down to your lips, we’ve left the easier one for last.
Many E-Girl makeup looks opt for peach-tinted lips. If that is not exactly your color, you can opt for any glossy lipstick that goes well with your look. You can also go with lip gloss instead.

Complete Your Look
You’re almost done with your E-Girl makeup look and all it needs are some finishing touches. Mind you, these aren’t required but they surely add an extra oomph to your overall look.
One of the finishing touches you can add to your E-Girl makeup look is small hearts and stars that you can stamp on your cheeks or right below the eyes like beauty marks. If you’re willing to go all the way with the E-Girl look, you can dye your hair using fun, bright colors. Pink, in particular, is a favorite among those rocking the E-Girl look.
