Cute outfits that go with your fresh ‘do!

Undergoing change is frightening and with it comes risks (lots of them!). Going out of our comfort zone (fashion-wise) is undeniably the best thing because it’s only through actual trial-and-error that we discover what styles best suit us.

Contrary to popular belief, maintaining short hair is not as difficult as people make it out to be. Although having more than three inches of your hair cut off in one sitting can be daunting, especially if you are accustomed to having long locks frame your face, the after-feeling is the most liberating thing. A win-win for you, your bank account and the planet — you end up using less bath and styling products, take less time in the shower, and don’t have to purchase products as frequently.

With a new ‘do comes a different set of challenges to face on the daily: finding the right outfits to complement your new cut (and of course, ending up with a hair style that works well with your face shape!). In the event that things go south with your new look, remind yourself that it’s only temporary! In a few weeks, it will grow back to a length that’ll be more comfortable for you.

Nevertheless, having short hair should not deter women from sporting outfits that will make them feel beautiful and confident. If it’s your first time to sport short hair, here are some outfit ideas that will put your mind at ease when it comes to choosing what to wear.

1. Puff Sleeves

Everyone has their off days — yes, your hair dresser included. No matter how familiar he or she may be with your facial features, there can be instances wherein your desired haircut won’t turn out as expected. As frustrating as it may be, it does happen; and for sure, everyone’s experienced it at least once (if that’s any consolation!).

Keeping that scenario in mind, the best thing you can do is to use your outfit as a distraction in order to prevent people from staring at your botched haircut. If you feel like your hair turned out to be shorter than expected, pair it with a more feminine top to balance it out — such as a puff sleeve top or an off-shoulder blouse for example.

2. Little Black Dress

Regardless of your age and what you do — whether you are working or still a student, a little black dress is the ultimate closet staple you should own. A wardrobe essential, the LBD is known to be the most versatile piece a woman can own. Exuding class and sophistication, it can be worn anywhere — be it on a lunch or dinner date with your significant other, during a night on the town with the girls, or even to class! Both versatile and sexy, it can be paired with your favorite heels or some trainers, and a denim jacket to top it off. With so many styles and cuts to choose from, the ways in which you can wear the LBD are endless.

3. Slip Dresses

Another alternative for those who would rather inject more color into their wardrobe would be to invest in slip dresses. What used to be considered an outdated undergarment is now a woman’s go-to wardrobe essential when she wants to sport something light and breathable. As versatile as the LBD, it can also be layered over a turtle neck or worn on its own, transforming it from day to night.

Pick some up in an array of colors, so you’ll always have something to wear in case of emergency events!
