And more often than not, first-impressions play a role in the hiring process — so you’ll definitely want to look smart, confident and suitable to those interviewing you. Here are a few things to keep in mind when deciding what to wear.
Go for corporate attire
Think of job interviews as professional meetings. Go for tailored pieces, like a pair of trousers and a button up shirt. Close-toed shoes are your best bet for comfort and for added professionalism. Gravitate to your solid colored clothes and save your bright, printed tops for another day. Always bear in mind that you must dress to impress your interviewers.

Handbag
Your handbag should be the right size to carry all of these and your own purse essentials. It is especially vital for your job interview because you need to bring a folder with copies of your resume and cover letter, mints and a compact mirror.
Keep your hair and makeup minimal
Interviewers have to be able to see your face clearly, which is why minimal makeup is the best way to go. Use makeup products that only enhance the features of your beautiful face; a light layer of foundation and a bit of blush will do the trick. As for your hair, make sure it’s away from your face. Style it in a way that will prevent you from fidgeting with your hair during your interview.
Fragrance
You wouldn’t want to smell bad during your interview. It’s always best to wear a fragrance, but don’t apply too much of it. Only apply it to the sides of your neck and your wrists. This way, your fragrance will last longer but won’t be too overpowering.
Wear A Smile
Interviewers look for people who have an air of confidence, so don’t forget to show your interviewers that you’re self-assured in your capabilities and your decision to apply for a position at their company. Lastly, don’t be afraid to smile! It’s really the best accessory anyone can wear.
