The 5 Perfect Pinoy Movies on Netflix if You Feel Like Ugly- Crying on Single’s Day

Happy Single’s Day… or not.

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, but those who don’t have anyone to share the Day of Hearts would probably just want to forget the day exists and celebrate something else.

Enter: Single’s Day.

As its name suggests, Single’s Day is for the, well, single who want to celebrate being one. It can still be bittersweet for some people though, especially for those who yearn to have a plus one on February 14.

If you’re one of those people who want to shed a tear — or ten — over being single, here are some Pinoy movies that you can find on Netflix that are guaranteed to make you ugly-cry this Valentine’s Day. We know we did.

Hello, Love, Goodbye

Will it be them at the end? Or will they go their separate ways? Those are the two questions that you probably will end up asking yourself as you watch the unfolding of the story of Joy and Ethan, played by Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards, respectively.

It’s a bittersweet tale that we won’t be surprised could hit close to home for many would-have-been and should-have-been couples out there. If you’re one of them, this will probably hurt more than you think.

Love You to the Stars and Back

Relationships, whether romantic or platonic, can be difficult and crazy as it is, but what if you add a pretty life-threatening illness to the equation? Well, that’s what you will see when you watch Love You to the Stars and Back.

The film stars Julia Barretto as Mika, who goes on a road trip in search of — believe it or not — aliens. She ends up giving a free ride to Caloy, played by Joshua Garcia, a happy-go-lucky guy who has accepted that he is sick.

One More Try

In relationships, the more people are involved in one, the more complicated it becomes. That is pretty much the case with One More Try, which stars Angel Locsin, Dingdong Dantes, Angelica Panganiban, and Zanjoe Marudo.

To simply put, Grace (Locsin) and Edward (Dantes) share a son. They are both married to other people, Tristan and Jacqueline, respectively. Things become more complicated when the rare blood disease of Grace and Edward’s son gets worse.

Starting Over Again

An oldie but definitely a goodie, Starting Over Again stars Toni Gonzaga, Piolo Pascual, and Iza Calzado.

Like Hello, Love, Goodbye, it’s another bittersweet love vs career story mixed with the all too real pain that comes with hoping two people who have separated can start all over again and rekindle the flame.

The Hows of Us

One of the guaranteed tearjerkers in Netflix’s selection of Pinoy movies, The Hows of Us stars Kathryn Bernardo once more and her usual leading man and real-life boyfriend, Daniel Padilla.

The movie follows the story of schoolmates George and Primo, who end up falling in love with each other. Young and hopeful, they both dream of being together until they grow old and being successful along the way. That is until one of them ends up not being successful at all.
