Get to know this adorable power couple

With the evolution of Filipino music, it’s heartwarming to see more and more unique individuals creating new, diverse sounds that the local scene has sorely been missing. Such individuals include our /cover stars, Leila Alcasid and Mito Fable — known as Curtismith — who are not only trailblazers in their own right, but the ultimate #couplegoals as well.

What are your favorite feel-good songs at the moment?
Mito: Downtown as Fruits
Leila: Anything Arianna Grande
What are your favorite activities to do with each other?
Sleeping. We love watching Modern Family and cooking food at home. We used to go out and eat a lot, but now it’s the pandemic we try our best to stay home. We also used to travel together before the pandemic — that was fun.
Is there a series you forced each other to watch?
Mito: Itaewon Class
Leila: Too Hot to Handle and Gossip Girl, but he didn’t like Gossip Girl.
Have you ever tried making playlists for each other?
Leila: I made a BTS playlist to introduce Mito to BTS and K-Pop.

What’s your usual date night set up?
Pre-pandemic? We’d always go out and eat out. During the pandemic, we just order or cook — Leila cooks a lot. We have wine and watch Modern Family.
The first place you’re planning to visit after the lockdown?
Japan!
How did u spend time during the lockdown?
We moved to an apartment and are getting another puppy!
Mito: I made an album, it’s called Museo out now! I also released Downtown as Fruits and got a day job.
Leila: I’m usually playing Mobile Legends, and Animal Crossing. I also started school.

Any new hobbies you picked up during the lockdown?
Mito: I started playing bass; I’m truly in love with this instrument.
Leila: Cooking! I’ve always cooked, but never to the extent that I do now. it’s become something I love to do.
What are your biggest takeaways from the pandemic?
Mito: Adapt. Nothing is permanent. Everything is always changing, but you just got to be cool with it. Keep rolling with the punches.
Leila: Remember to deal with your mental health even when you’re busy. Before the pandemic, I never really took the time to address things that were going on with me, so when the pandemic started, I was overwhelmed with all these feelings.
